قوميات: ما يميز الدولة التركية أنها ترى في كل شخص مرتبط بعلاقة المواطنة مع الدولة "تركيًا"، وبالتالي فليست هناك إحصائيات داخلية دقيقة حول التركيبة العرقية للدةول، فيما تشير إحصائيات خارجية ودولية إلى أنّ غالبية السكان هم من العرق التركي، نا يشكل قرابة 70-75%.

ويشكل الأكراد أكبر عرق من غير العرق التركي ويعيشون أساسًا في المقاطعات الجنوبية الشرقية، ويقدر عددهم بقرابة 20% من السكان. وهناك أقليات عرقية أخرى معترف بها وهي: الأرمن واليونانيون واليهود، ومجموعات صغيرة من الأبخازيين والألبان والعرب والآشوريين والبوسنيين والشركس والجورجيين و«الهامشينيين»، و«اللاز»، والبوماك والغجر، وأقليات من أوروبا الغربية.

وتسكن خارج تركيا جاليات تركية كبيرة تقدر بالملايين في أوروبا وأمريكا وكندا وأستراليا، حيث تشكل الجالية التركية في ألمانيا مثلا أكبر جالية أجنبية هناك.

التركيبة السكانية: ديانات: تركيا دولة علمانية يمنح دستورها حرية المعتقد والدين، رغم أنّ غالبية سكانها من المسلمين، حيث يشكلون قرابة 97 -99% من السكان. وتعادل نسبة السنيين منهم (85-90%) أما الشيعة والعلويين فهم (10-15%).

اللغة الرسمية: التركية هي اللغة الرسمية الوحيدة في تركيا.

لغات أخرى: تشير بعض الإحصائيات إلى أنّ قرابة 70-75% من السكان يتكلمونها، فيما يتكلم اللغة الكردية قرابة 18%. وتوجد أيضًا لغات أخرى مثل: العربية والبوسنية والكردية والشركسية.

الديانة الرسمية: لا يوجد دين رسميّ للدولة التركية.

ديانات أخرى: تبلغ نسبة المسيحيين 0.6%-0.9% (الأرثوذكسيون أكبر طوائفها)، ويشكل اليهود قرابة 0،04% وطوائف أخرى صغيرة مثل الإيزيديين والمانويين والصابئة المندائية.
