ولد في 14/10/1892 في ماركوفكا في محافظة خاركوف في أوكرانيا ، كان من أبرز القواد في الجيش الأحمر واللقطة وهو يعطي الأمر لكتيبته بالهجوم.

قبر الجندي المجهول هو نصب تذكاري للحرب ، مخصصة للجنود السوفيت الذين قتلوا خلال الحرب العالمية الثانية،يقع عند حائط الكرملين في حديقة الكسندر في موسكو.
في البداية تم دفن ما تبقى من الجنود المجهولين الذين قتلوا في معركة موسكو في عام 1941 في قبر جماعي على بعد 41 كيلومترا من الطريق السريع لينينغراد في مدينة زيلينوجراد. وكان هذا الموقع هو اقرب نقطة اقترابت فيه الجيوش النازية من موسكو خلال الحرب.
للاحتفال بالذكرى 25 للمعركة، في ديسمبر 1966 تم نقل هذه البقايا إلى حائط الكرملين. تم تصميم قبر الجندي المجهول من قبل المهندسين المعماريين دي آي بوردين، في إي كليموف، يوآر رابييف ، والنحات نيكولاي تومسكي .
ازيح الستار وفتح للجمهور يوم 8 مايو، 1967. وزين بالقرميد الأحمر و بنصب برونزي لفرع الغار وخوذة الجندي وضعت على قاعدة رخامية.
