أنهت المصرية رنيم الوليلي هيمنة الماليزية نيكول ديفيد لمدة تسع سنوات على صدارة التصنيف العالمي للاعبات الاسكواش المحترفات اليوم الثلاثاء في أحد أطول فترات السيطرة على القمة في رياضة واحدة.

وقالت رابطة الاسكواش للمحترفين إن رنيم (26 عاما) أصبحت أول مصرية ترتقي لقمة التصنيف العالمي في أي لعبة.

وعبرت رنيم الفائزة بجائزة أفضل لاعبة اسكواش في 2015 في بيان "أشعر بسعادة غامرة بعد أن أصبحت المصنفة الأولى الجديدة على العالم."

وأضافت اللاعبة التي تستهل الموسم يوم الخميس المقبل في بطولة الصين المفتوحة "نيكول كانت رقم واحد لفترة طويلة والفجوة بينها وبيننا جميعا كانت ضخمة لذا فإن الاقتراب منها وأن أصبح أول من يحل مكانها أخيرا يعد انجازا هائلا بالنسبة لي."

وظلت رنيم في المركز الثاني في التصنيف لثمانية أشهر بعد فوزها بثلاث بطولات كبرى منها بطولة الاسكندرية في مصر في يونيو حزيران الماضي.

وتدرك اللاعبة المصرية أن صدارتها قد تستمر لفترة وجيزة بسبب فارق النقاط الضئيل مع نيكول التي ستشارك في بطولة الصين أيضا.

وتابعت رنيم "أعرف أنني قد أبقى في الصدارة لشهر واحد فقط وهذا جيد لأنني في حاجة لبذل المزيد من الجهد للانتصار في هذه اللعبة والتحدي الآن هو أن أثبت أحقيتي بالبقاء على القمة."

واعتلت نيكول البالغة من العمر 32 عاما الصدارة منذ 2006 على مدار 109 أشهر لتفرض هيمنتها على اللعبة وتحطم الرقم القياسي للاعبة نيوزيلندا سوزان ديفوي في 1993 والتي احتفظت بالصدارة 105 أشهر.

وفي ألعاب أخرى استمرت الأمريكية إد موزيس على القمة لعشر سنوات وحققت 122 فوزا متتاليا في سباق 400 متر حواجز قبل أن ينتهي ذلك في 1987.

وكان الأسكتلندي ستيفن هندري لاعب السنوكر الأول لمدة ثماني سنوات في تسعينات القرن الماضي بينما تربع الأمريكي تايجر وودز على صدارة التصنيف العالمي للجولف لمدة 281 أسبوعا وحتى 2010.
