بدأت الهيئة العامة للسياحة والآثار الإعداد للدورة الثامنة من ملتقى السفر والاستثمار السياحي السعودي التي ستقام خلال الفترة 9-13 جمادى الآخرة 1436هـ الموافقة 28 فبراير إلى 4 مارس 2015 تحت رعاية أمير منطقة الرياض بمركز الرياض الدولي للمعارض والمؤتمرات.

جاء ذلك بعد صدور الموافقة على استمرار تنظيم ملتقى السفر والاستثمار السياحي السعودي لخمس دورات قادمة؛ اعتباراً من العام الحالي 1436هـ وحتى العام 1440هـ.

ومن المتوقع أن تقام بعض أنشطة الملتقى خارج أرض المعارض، وذلك لأول مرة منذ سبع سنوات؛ حيث من المرجح أن يتم تنظيم مؤتمرات وورش عمل بفنادق الفورسيزونز والريتزكارلتون وفنادق أخرى، بمشاركة رجال الأعمال والمسؤولين والخبراء والمختصين، كما سيعقد على هامش الملتقى لقاء للاستثمار والتمويل السياحي لسياحة الأعمال و للاستثمار في التراث العمراني، وسياحة الشباب والرياضة.

وسيتم الإعلان كذلك عن معرض مصاحب للملتقى الذي يعد أكبر حدث سياحى في المملكة، وسيتضمن المعرض العشرات من ورش العمل التي تستهدف تمكين العاملين في صناعة السياحة الوطنية من اكتساب المزيد من المهارات والمعارف والاطلاع على أفضل التجارب العالمية والمحلية، كما سيشتمل على عروض وبرامج سياحية للمواطنين والمقيمين وفعاليات وأنشطة مختلفة.

وينظم الملتقى عدداً من الرحلات السياحية للمشاركين والزائرين تشمل رحلات يومية لعدد من المعالم الحضارية والتاريخية في الرياض.

وسيتم الإعلان عن الفائزين بجوائز التميز السياحي في مختلف الأقسام المعلن عنها وفئات الإعلام والمنشآت والشركات والمطاعم وغيرها.

ويعتبر الخبراء أن جوائز التميز السياحي في السعودية تعطي دافعاً كبيراً نحو الانطلاق إلى مرحلة جديدة مهمة في تطوير صناعة السياحة في المملكة العربية السعودية.

وتهدف هذه الجوائز إلى تقدير الإنجازات فوق المتوسطة التي يحققها الأفراد والمنظمات العاملة في قطاعات السياحة المتنامية في المملكة، كما ترمي إلى تحفيز المنظمات والأفراد لتحقيق أعلى المعايير الممكنة من المنتجات والخدمات ومواصلة تطوير أعمال السياحة، الأمر الذي يصب في مصلحة الشركات والسائحين الذين يبحثون عن التمتع بالمرافق السياحية ومراكز الجذب السياحي.
