لم يتمكن رئيس فريق فيراري ماوريزيو أريفابيني من إخفاء غضبه بعد انتهاء سباق جائزة كندا الكبرى، الجولة السابعة من بطولة العالم للفورمولا 1 لموسم 2015.

وعانى الألماني سيباستيان فيتيل من مشاكل في الموثوقية في الحصة التأهيلية إضافةً إلى العقوبة التي فُرضت عليه، ما ترك مهمة منافسة فريق مرسيدس للفنلندي كيمي رايكونن الذي يسعى للحفاظ على مقعدة لموسم 2016.

وطلب أريفابيني بوقت سابق من رايكونن تحسين مستواه في الحصص التأهيلية، وكان الفنلندي في طريقه لتحقيق المركز الثالث في السباق الكندي قبل أن يفقد السيطرة على السيارة في المنعطف ما قبل الأخير، وأدى ذلك إلى خسارته المركز لصالح مواطنه سائق ويليامز فالتيري بوتاس.

وقال أريفابيني: “ما حدث يوم أمس قد يكون تقصيراً من كيمي، لأنه فقط السيطرة على السيارة العام الماضي وبالمنعطف نفسه”.

وصرح رايكونن بالقول إن المشكلة قد تكون بسبب قوة عزم دوران المحرك، وأصر الفنلندي أن هناك شيء ما قد حدث بدلاً عن وجود خطأ بقيادته للسيارة.

وعند سؤاله من قبل قناة سكاي إيطاليا عن رأيه بالسباق، أجاب أريفابيني: “من الأفضل أن لا أتحدث عما أفكر به الآن، لقد خسرنا منصة تتويج ولا توجد أية أعذار لتلك الخسارة”.

وأضاف: “قد تبدو منصة التتويج مملة في الوقت الحالي، لكن عدم الصعود إليها أمر سيء”.

وكشف فريق فيراري عن زيادة بقوة المحرك تقدر بـ 30 حصاناً مع تحديثات جائزة كندا الكبرى.

وتابع أريفابيني: “لا توجد أية أعذار، لقد توقعت أن نكون أفضل مع تلك التحديثات لكننا رجعنا إلى الخلف مرة أخرى”.

والأسوأ من ذلك لرايكونن، فأن مواطنه وأحد أهم منافسيه على مقعد فيراري فالتيري بوتاس قد أحرز المركز الثالث في السباق، إضافة إلى وجود رئيس الفريق سيرجيو ماركيوني الذي سُئل قبل بداية السباق عن مستقبل رايكونن.

وقال ماركيوني: “في البداية، من دواعي سروري رؤيته يتسابق، ومن هذا المنطلق سنقرر ماذا سيحدث”.

من ناحيته قال فيتيل عن إمكانية منافسة ثنائي مرسيدس في حال الانطلاق من المراكز المتقدمة: “لسوء الحظ لن نعرف ذلك أبداً، ونحن لا نتوقع حدوث أية معجزات مع التحديثات التي قمنا بها، ففي بعض السباقات نحن نقترب منهم والبعض الآخر نتراجع، إضافةً إلى أن فريق مرسيدس لا يزال يتقدم”.
