تشير الإحصاءات إلى أن قائدي السيارات من الشباب هم الأكثر عرضة لحوادث الطرق، وحسب أرقام منظمة الصحة العالمية فإن حوادث المرور تأتي على رأس أسباب وفيات الشباب في المرحلة العمرية بين 10 سنوات و 24 سنة، وتتسبب سنويا في وفاة 400 ألف شاب حول العالم أقل من 25 سنة .

1- الانشغال بغير القيادة

ينشغل قائد السيارة الشاب بعدة أمور تبعده عن التركيز في القيادة كالتحدث وإرسال رسائل قصيرة عبر الجوال، أو الأكل أثناء القيادة، أو العبث بكاسيت السيارة، وكل هذه الأمور تؤدي إلى اختلال عجلة القيادة في يد السائق .



2- المخاطرة

يغامر الكثير من قائدي السيارات الشباب بتجاوز القوانين المرورية وقواعد السلامة بهدف لفت الانتباه، ومن أهم تلك التجاوزات تجاوز إشارات المرور و عدم الالتزام باللافتات المرورية.



3- التسارع

عدد كبير من قائدي السيارات الشباب يستحضرون روح أفلام الحركة أثناء القيادة ويبدؤون في التسارع بالسيارات حتى ان استلزم ذلك التضييق على السيارات الأخرى.



4- تعبئة السيارة بالأصدقاء


في أجواء المرح يسعى بعض الشباب إلى إضفاء حالة من الصخب أثناء قيادتهم للسيارة، فيصرون على تحميل السيارة فوق طاقتها بالأصدقاء، وفي أثناء ذلك تحدث مشاكسات قد تطال قائد السيارة نفسه.



5- القيادة تحت تأثير الخمر أو المخدرات

الوقوع تحت تأثير المسكرات يسبب رؤية سيئة تمنع من إدراك أبعاد الطريق بشكل جيد، وهو السبب الرئيس في وقوع الكثير من الحوادث.



6- تقارب المسافات بين السيارات

من الأخطاء (http://www.alhaqlah.com/showthread.php?t=49073) الشائعة عدم وجود مسافة مناسبة بين السيارة التي يقودها الشاب والسيارة التي أمامه، وأحيانا يكون ذلك بهدف الاستعراض أو استفزاز أصحاب السيارات الأخرى.



7- خلع حزام الأمان

حزام الأمان هو أحد أسباب نجاة كثيرين كانوا على حافة الموت لولا التزامهم بارتدائه، لذا فعدم ارتدائه يعد أحد أخطاء القيادة.



8- الجهل بالإسعافات الأولية


أحيانا يكون الجهل بالإسعافات الأولية سببا مباشرا في تدهور بعض حالات الحوادث، نتيجة عدم إدراك كيفية إجرائها أو عدم وجود أدوات إسعاف أو وسائل أمان تفيد في ذلك، وهو ما يستلزم إتاحة المدارس والمعسكرات الصيفية ووسائل الإعلام المعلومات الأساسية حول هذا الأمر.



9- القيادة تحت تأثير النعاس

10- اختيار سيارة غير مناسبة


كثير من الشباب لا يكترثون بمعرفة الحالة الميكانيكية للسيارة التي يقودونها، وهو ما قد يوقعهم في مشاكل كثيرة على الطريق، فإدراك حالة السيارة والتأكد من ملاءمتها للاستعمال أحد الأمور التي يجب على الشاب الالتفات إليها أثناء القيادة .
