يخطط السويسري جوزيف بلاتر رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم المنتهية ولايته لحضور القرعة التمهيدية لمونديال روسيا 2018 التي تجرى في وقت لاحق من الشهر الحالي.
وقال بلاتر لصحيفة (فيلت ام سونتاج) الألمانية الأحد فى تصريحات في زيوريخ بشأن قرعة مونديال روسيا التي تجرى في 25 تموز/ يوليو الحالي فى سان بطرسبرج: “سأذهب إلى هناك”.
ولم يحضر بلاتر نهائي مونديال الشباب تحت 20 عاما في نيوزلندا ونفس الشيء بالنسبة لنهائي مونديال السيدات في كندا، والذي يجمع في وقت لاحق الاحد بين اليابان والولايات المتحدة.
ولم يغادر بلاتر سويسرا منذ إعلانه في الثاني من حزيران/يونيو الحالي عن قراره بالاستقالة من رئاسة الفيفا بسبب التحقيقات الجنائية في فضيحة الفساد التي ضربت الفيفا مؤخرا.
واسفرت التحقيقات الأمريكية بشأن فساد الفيفا عن اعتقال سبعة من مسؤولي الفيفا بينهم نائبين للرئيس، في زيوريخ قبل أقل من شهرين.
وقال بلاتر: “لن ارتكب أي مخاطرة في السفر طالما لم تحسم كل الأمور”.
وتم انتخاب بلاتر رئيسا للفيفا في ولاية خامسة بعد يومين فقط من حملة الاعتقالات، لكنه أعلن في الثاني من حزيران/يونيو الماضي أنه سيستقيل خلال الكونجرس الاستثنائي للفيفا في نهاية العام الحالي أو بداية العام المقبل، قبل أن يلمح إلى إمكانية العدول عن رأيه والبقاء في منصبه.
